Abstract

Models relating to spontaneous combustion of coal in stockpiles are presented in this paper. Coal
produced from surface or underground mines must be stored in stockpiles if not delivered or sold
right away. In addition, it is necessary to have a certain amount of coal in the stockpiles of
thermal power plants.
In this paper, firstly, the characteristics of oxidation reaction together with the physical and
chemical factors affecting oxidation are presented. Then, mechanism and process of oxidation are
presented in the light of models explaining spontaneous heating and experimental research results.
Lastly, changes in the properties of coal, due to oxidation are given and the methodology for a
safe aud efficient stockpiling of coal is presented

KÖMÜR STOKLARINDA MEYDANA GELEN KENDİLİĞİNDEN YANMA SÜRECİ İLE İLGİLİ MODELLER VE ALINMASI GEREKEN TEDBİRLER

Abstract

Bu makalede, yerüstünde stoklanan kömürlerin oksidasyon sonucu kendiliğinden yanması ve
konu ile ilgili mevcut yanma modelleri ele alınmıştır. Yeraltı ve yerüstü ocaklarından üretilen ve
hemen satılamayan kömürler yerüstünde stoklanmak zorundadırlar.
Bu çalışmada, stoklamayla beraber öncelikle ne şekilde bir oksidasyon reaksiyonunun
gerçekleştiği ve ardından da bu reaksiyona etki eden kimyasal ve fiziksel parametrelerin üzerinde
durulmuştur. Daha sonra oksidasyonun hangi mekanizmalarla, hangi süreçlerde yeraldığı, bu
mekanizmalann tanımlandığı modellemeler ve deneysel çalışmalar sunulmuştur. Son olarak
körmrde oksidasyon sonucu ne gibi değişimlerin olduğu, güvenli bir stoklamanm nasıl yapılacağı,
önceden alınması gerekli tedbirler ve açıkta stoklamanın çevresel etkileri üzerinde bilgiler
verilmiştir.
