Abstract
The direct use of low quality coal is the main source öf air pollution, It is possible to reduce high
sulfur and ash contents of these coals by the application of suitable physical and chemical coal
cleaning techniques. In this study, molten caustic leach technique was applied for desulfurization
and deashing of various coal samples and 98% desulfurization was obtained for Soma lignite.

Yüksek kükürtlü ve küllü kömürleri, uygun fiziksel ve kimyasal yöntemlerle temizlemek
mümkündür. Bu araştırma kimyasal bir yöntem olan, ergiyik kostik liç yöntemi. ile farklı
kömürlerin kül ve kükürt içeriklerinin azaltılmasına çalışılmış ve Soma linyiti için %98'lik bir
kükürtsüzleştirme elde edilmiştir.
