Operations Research (OR) is concerned with optimal decision making in, and modeling of, deterministic and probablistic systems. This paper presents a summary of the results of an extensive literatura survey which was carried out in order to determine the most widely used techniques, the important areas and future trends of the OR applications within the mining industry

Yöneylem araştırması, deterministik (kesin olarak hesaplanabilen) ve probabilistik (tahmini olarak hesaplanabilen) sistemlerin modellenmesi ve bu sistemlerin optimum olarak çalışmalarını sağlama amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. Bu yazıda, madencilik endüstrisindeki yöneylem araştırması uygulamalarında kullanılan en yaygın teknikler, en önemli uygulama alanları ve bu uygulamaların gelecekteki eğilimini öngören geniş bir literatür taramasının sonuçları sunulmaktadır
