Abstract
An investigation to enrich the tailings of a chromite - concentrator is undertaken by the
use of a home - made 8 - Spigot hydraulic clasifier and a home - made frame with honeycomb
surface. Following a series of experiments, a fraction containing 15 % CrO yielded a concentrate
of 39.71 % Cr O with a recovery of 44.2 %.A finer fraction containing 17 % Cr O produced
a concentrate of 46.87 % CrO with a recovery of 47.9 %. Similar experiments on cyclone
overflows containing 18 - 20 % CrO procuded concentrates containing 47.97 % Cr O and 43.64 %
Cr O with recoveries 34.3 % and 37.4 %, respectively.
A simple pilot - plant flow - sheet has been presented at the end as a direct result of the
experiments.

48 - meş'e kadar öğütülen ve 8 - gözlü hidrolik klasifikatörde sınıflandırılan, artıklardan en
ince kısmın temsili numuneleri, lâboratuvarda kurulan ve üzeri bal peteği yapısını andıran bir
«çerçeve» den geçirilmiştir. Belirli bir akım şeması takip edilerek neticede, % 15 Cr O' 'İlk fraksiyondan
% 39.71 CO 'İlk konsantre % 44.2 randımanla, % 17 Cr O ihtiva eden daha ince fraksiyondan
% 46.87 Cr O 'İlk konsantre % 47.9 randımanla elde edilmiştir. Topaklanmış siklon
artıklarıyla ise % 19.58 Cr O '11 numuneden % 47.97 Cr O ihtiva eden bir konsantre % 34.3 randımanla
ve % 18.36 Cr O İhtiva eden ikinci numuneden de % 43.6 Cr O 'lik konsantre % 37.4
randımanla elde edilmiştir.
Deney neticelerine dayanarak basit bir pilot tesisin akım şeması verilmiştir.
