Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Akademik Erteleme Nedenleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin akademik erteleme nedenleri cinsiyetlerine, okul başarılarına, umut, mükemmeliyetçilik, dıştan denetim, özsaygı, sorumluluk, akademik öz yeterlik ve başarı yönelimlerine bağlı olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma grubunu 2009 – 2010 eğitim ve öğretim yılında, Gazi Üniversitesinin farklı bölümlerinde öğrenimlerine devam eden, 74’ü erkek, 201’ki kız, (14 belirtmeyen) toplam 289 lisans ve yüksek lisans öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Yaşları 17-35 arasında değişen katılımcılar ( = 20.00; ss = 3.23), Erteleme Davranışı Değerlendirme, Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik, Rosenberg Özsaygı, Rotter Denetim Odağı, Umut, Akademik Öz Yeterlik ve Başarı Amaç Oryantasyonları Ölçekleri ile Sıfatlara Dayalı Kişilik Testini yanıtlamışlardır. Çalışma kapsamında toplanan veriler kanonik korelasyon analiziyle incelenmiş, sonuçta performans kaçınma-amaç yönelimine sahip, sorumluluk duygusu düşük öğrencilerin, başarısızlık korkusu ve tembellik nedenleriyle akademik çalışmalarını erteledikleri bulunmuştur.
