Abstract

Demodikozis uzun zamandır deri hastalıkları arasında önemli
bir hastalık olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bu çalışmadaki yazarlara göre, demodeks
etkenine sahip köpeklerde daha önce biyofiziksel deri analizi yapılmamıştır. Bu
çalışmada generalize demodikozis ile enfekte olmuş köpeklerin retrospektif
olarak deri korneometrik analizlerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Callegari

Can the pH of the skin be an important biophysical marker in dogs with generalized demodicosis?

Abstract

Demodicosis
has long been recognized as an important disease with skin disorders. To the
present authors knowledge biophysical skin analysis has not been performed in
dogs with demodex infestation. In the present study the aim was to
retrospectively evaluate selected corneometric analysis to those of dogs
infested with generalized demodicosis. In a total of 7 infected dogs were
compared to 6 other entirely healthy ones, corneometric analysis were deemed
available by use of Callegari Soft Plus corneometric system. In infected dogs
epidermal pH ranged between 5 to 5.8, whereas healthy dogs showed pH variation
as 6.1 to 7.4. It should not be unwise to draw conclusion that demodex infestation
might change skin pH or vice versa, which should be promptly treated with
speical reference to epidermal pH.
