Review Process

  • All the manuscripts submitted to the Veterinary Journal of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University are subjected to initial evaluation by the Editor.
  • Manuscripts that meet the internal criteria (emerging and important topics) are further scrutinized by the editorial office to check the language and format of the manuscript.
  • Manuscript not in conformity with the author guidelines or those with poor use of language are returned to the authors for corrections before processing.
  • Manuscript with acceptable language and according to the journal format are sent to the section editor for review process. All manuscripts are usually subjected to plagiarism check by one of the editors.
  • Veterinary Journal of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University uses double-blind peer-review process. It implies that the blinded manuscripts submitted to the journal are reviewed by at least two unknown independent reviewers nominated by the section editor.
  • Reviewer/referee is allowed to access the manuscript as soon as he/she agrees to review the manuscript.
  • Once at least two independent referee reports are received, section editor evaluates the reports of reviewers and informs about the decision made in the light of referee reports.
  • The manuscript at this stage can be accepted, rejected, or the authors can be invited to conduct major or minor revisions.
  • Referee reports are made available to the authors for revisions. Referee may want to see the revised manuscript. Such manuscripts are referred to the referee after the revision.
  • After satisfactory revision(s), section editor may recommend the acceptance to the Editor-in-chief who informs the authors regarding the outcome of the manuscript.
