Abstract
The article is devoted to the analyzes of the research by the Austro-Hungarian Turkologist Vilmoš Pröhle «Balkarische Studien», which has so far not been the object of scientific study. It discusses the structural features of the work, clarifies the scope and provides a brief description of each section. The article emphasies the uniqueness of the linguistic data on the Malkar dialect of Karachai-Balkar language collected Vilmoš Pröhle and its value both for the domestic and world Philology. «Balkarische Studien» by V. Pröhle include essays on Phonetics and Morphology the Malkar dialect of the Balkar variant of Karachai-Balkar language, folklore texts (riddles, proverbs, epic and lyrical songs and tales), ethnographic studies and a glossary, which are certainly of scientific interest for a wide range of researchers in the history of the language, folklore, culture and life of Balkars in the early twentieth century. In his research V. Pröhle gave a systematic description of phonetic and morphological features Malar dialect, presented samples of the Balkar folklore; he was the first to comprehensively describe and introduce into scientific circulation a systematically structured vocabulary that reflects the totality of the lingvocultural information important for the understanding of the historical development of the world view of ethnic Balkars. Of special scientific importance in the work are the author’s comments, showing the depth and the scope of philological interests and knowledge of the author.

Резюме: Настоящая статья посвящена анализу исследования
австро-венгерского тюрколога Вильгельма Прёле «Balkarische
Studien», который до настоящего времени не был объектом научного
описания. В ней рассматриваются структурные особенности
работы, уточняется ее объем и дается краткая характеристика
каждому разделу.
В статье отмечается уникальность собранного Вильгельмом Прёле
языкового материала малкарского диалекта карачаево-балкарского
языка как в отечественной, так и в зарубежной филологической
науке. «Balkarische Studien» В. Прёле включают очерки фонетики и
морфологии малкарского диалекта балкарского варианта карачаево-
балкарского языка, фольклорные тексты (загадки, пословицы,
эпические и лирические песни и сказки), этнографические этюды и
словарь, которые, безусловно, представляют научный интерес для
широкого круга исследователей истории языка, фольклора, культуры
и быта балкарцев в начале ХХ столетия. В штудиях В. Прёле дал
системное описание фонетических и морфологических особенностей
малкарского диалекта, представил образцы балкарского фольклора,
впервые составил, всесторонне описал и ввел в научный оборот
системно структурированный словник, отражающий совокупность
лингвокультурной информации, важной для понимания этнической
картины мира балкарцев в его историческом развитии. Особую
научную значимость в работе представляют его комментарии,
показывающие глубину и широту филологических интересов и
познаний автора.
