Abstract

Bu çalışmada Kıbrıs Türk basın ve kimliğinin oluşumundan hareket edilerek, 1 Haziran 1973'te Kıbrıs'ta Türkçe olarak basın hayatına atılan Zaman gazetesinin 20 Temmuz 1974 Mutlu Barış Harekatı'na kadarki sayılarının 'Kültür Köşesi'nde ve gazetenin diğer sayfalarında çıkan edebi ürünler taranmış, ardından da kronolojik ve tematik biçimde sıralanmıştır. Zaman gazetesinin kültür köşesinde ve sayfalarında yayımladığı Türkiye ve Kıbrıs Türk şair, yazar ve aydınlarına ait edebi ürünlerin ve yazıların ortak özelliği, "milliyetçi, Türkçü, ulusal bilinci canlı ve uyanık tutan içeriklere" sahip olması, Rum saldırı ve tehditlerinin yaşandığı gergin bir dönemde Kıbrıs Türkü'ne moral vermesidir. Zaman gazetesindeki edebi ürünlerde, şiir dalında Arif Nihat Asya ile Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca'nın, Türk halk edebiyatında Aşık Veysel'in, Kıbrıs'tan ise Özker Yaşın, Oktay Öksözoğlu ve Osman Güvenir'in adları ön plana çıkmaktadır.

The Column of Culture in the Newspaper Named Zaman Before Cyprus Peace Operation in Cyprus (1 June, 1973- 20 July, 1974)

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Turkish Cypriot press and its role in the formation of the Turkish Cyriot identity through scanning and compiling the articles written in the ‘cultural corner’ and the texts related to the literary works in the other pages in the Zaman newspaper in a chronological and thematic order which was started to be published in the Tukish language in the Turkish Cypriot in 01 June, 1973 until the Peace Operation on July 20, 1974. The general characteristics of the literary works and articles written by the Turksih Cypriot and the Turkish poets, writers, and other intellectuals in the Zaman newspaper’s ‘cultural corner’ and other articles was about ‘nationalism, Turkish nationalism, national awareness and counsciousness’ which was a great moral resource for the Turkish Cypriot in a tense and threatening period cuased by the Greek Cypriots. This research will focus mainly on the literary works in the Zaman newspaper written by Arif Nihat Asya and Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca in poetry section and Aşık Veysel in Turkish folk literature section from Turkey, and other literary works witten by the Turkish Cypriot writers such as Özker Yaşın, Oktay Öksözoğlu, and Osman Güvenir
