Nematic liquid crystals have been used extensively for many
electro-optical systems such as displays. Thus, there is a great interest on
the applications of twisted nematic liquid crystal devices. In this article, fabrication
of nematic liquid crystal devices and their electro-optical properties have
been investigated. In particular, the light transmission characteristics of a
twisted nematic device have been studied and some device parameters have been
determined.
