Abstract

Spor, geçtiğimiz yüzyılda etkileri giderek artan
en önemli olgulardan biridir. İlk başlarda sadece yerel çapta ve çok küçük bir
azınlık tarafından gerçekleştirilen spor aktiviteleri, önce Olimpiyat oyunlarının
ve sonra diğer organizasyonların (özellikle futbol organizasyonlarının) da
yardımıyla adeta tüm dünyayı etkisi altına almıştır. Dünya üzerinde demokrasi,
serbest piyasa ve hatta özgürlük gibi olgulardan dahi daha yaygın olan
spor, günümüzde küreselleşmenin etkisinin en somut örneğidir.
Durum böyleyken, sporun gerek yerel gerekse bölgesel ve uluslararası
politikaya etkisi oldukça geniştir. Bu çalışmada, spor ile siyaset
arasındaki ilişki ve bunun ulusal ve uluslararası alandaki
etkisi araştırılacaktır. Çalışmada somut örnekler, etkileri göz önünde bulundurulduğunda
doğal olarak, olimpiyatlar ve futbol ağırlıklı olacaktır. Çalışmanın amacı,  uluslararası spor organizasyonlarında, devletlerin
(veya onların temsilcisi olan takımların ve sporcuların) takındığı tavırların
ve davranışlarının, devletlerin uluslararası politikalarıyla paralel olup olmadığını
anlamak ve spor uluslararası siyaset ilişkisini ortaya koymaktır.

THE IMPACT OF SPORT ON INTERNATIONAL POLITICS

Abstract

Sport is one of the most important phenomenon that
its impacts have expanded the recent century. At first, it was at only local
scale; but, with the help of Olympic Games  and other sport organizations (especially
football organizations), in fact, sport has penetrated the world. Around the globe,
it is more prevalent than the phenomenons like democracy, open market, and,
even, freedom; and this is the best epitome of globalization. In this circumstance,
sport is highly effective on both national and international
politics. In this paper, the relation between sport and politics, and its impacts
on both national and international politics will be discussed. Cases of
the discussion will, inher ently, be mainly about Olympic Games and
football. The aim of the study is to understand whether states’ (or their
representatives as teams’ and players’) behaviors on sport organizations
are influenced by states’ international politics, or not; and to present
the relationship between sport and politics.
