Evaluation Of Factors Affecting Referee Performance İn Basketball: Case İn Turkıye

Abstract

It is important that basketball referees can make quick, accurate and comfortable decisions simultaneously under all different conditions during the match. It may be appropriate to improve the conditions for better performance by evaluating the factors affecting the performance of the referees so that they can decide in this way. This study was conducted with the aim of examining and prioritizing the criteria affecting the performance of basketball referees. For this purpose, methods and criteria were scanned by examining previous studies, and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method were selected to evaluate performance factors. Paired comparison questionnaires created to find their weights with the AHP method, which was created at the end of the criteria affecting the referee performance obtained from the literature review and the opinions of the referees in the A, B, C classifications. It has been evaluated by a total of 9 experts who are referees in the A, B and C classifications registered with the Turkish Basketball Federation. The individual trainings of the referees in all classifications are scheduled under the institutional roof, which will affect the performance of the referees.
