Visual arts education is known as an important item which encourages artistic and aesthetic features of child to improve. From the descriptions of creation, creation is understood as a result of natural development or invention of child by himself. In twenty firsth century, children are exposed graphic visuals and prepared shapes everyday. Except from these visuals, children are presented easy geometric shapes, drawings and stereotypes, which are thought to make children draw and learn easier. But, the stereotypes in children’s paintings are seen that they are visuals which were prepared by adults. Phsychologists and educators have been interested in children’s paintings and analyzed children’s paintings in different ways. The question of whether children’s using stereotypes in their paintings is related with their creation level has been one of the topics researched by art educators, too. In this study, the previous studies about using stereotypes in between 5-8 years old children were searched and it is aimed at drawing attention to stereotypes effects on children’s linear development and creativity.
