As of 1 January 2026, the Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences (MAKU SOBED) has transitioned from the traditional periodic publishing system to a rolling/continuous publication model. Accordingly: • Manuscripts that have completed the peer-review and editorial processes will be published immediately by being assigned to an issue without waiting for the completion of the entire issue. • These articles, published in the early view format, will be citable and indexable with permanent DOI numbers. • This model significantly shortens the time required for scientific knowledge to enter circulation and ensures compliance with contemporary standards adopted in international academic publishing. The Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences (MAKU SOBED) is a peer-reviewed and scientific journal publishing in the field of social sciences. It has been published by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University since 2009; was published online twice a year (May and November) as of 2020; transitioned to the continuous publication model as of 2026; and has an advisory board composed of faculty members from different universities. With publication languages of Turkish and English, the journal aims to contribute to the field of Social Sciences in Türkiye and worldwide by publishing original research articles and review studies. No publication fees are charged for articles to be published in the journal. The intellectual and scientific responsibility for articles, and the legal responsibility for translations, belong to the authors/translators. The peer-review process takes an average of 2 months, while the article acceptance process takes an average of 3 months. The journal was published with two issues per year between 2009–2015, four issues per year between 2016–2019, and two issues per year between 2020–2025.
