Multifunctional kitchen set design to support activities in a studio type apartment: study case Kebagusan city Jakarta, Indonesia

Abstract

Over time, the population of Indonesia has experienced an increase, leading to a rise in the demand for living space. Due to limited land availability, vertical living spaces such as apartments have become an option for many individuals. However, the drawback of these living spaces is their small size, which can make the rooms feel cramped and congested. The kitchen is one of the areas that takes up a significant portion of space within apartments, especially considering the size of kitchen sets. Nevertheless, there are still cases where cooking activities cannot be effectively carried out due to inefficient kitchen sets. Additionally, due to space constraints, some apartments do not provide areas for dining or working. However, dining and working are basic necessities that are needed to make private space more comfortable nowadays. This design aims to facilitate cooking, dining, and working activities comfortably and effectively within the same area without making the room feel cramped or cluttered.
