An Investigation of the Relationship between Selfcompassion and Trait Anxiety Of College Students from Special Education Department

Abstract

The purpose of present study was determining self compassion and trait anxiety levels of student special educators. Participants were 605 students (189 boys, 416 girls) special educators from Special Education Department of University of Marmara and Special Education Department of Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University. Self Compassion
Scale was administered to determine self compassion levels and Trait Anxiety Scale was administered to determine trait anxiety levels. It was found that average of self compassion
scores were in normal spam and self compassion total scores but it was found that trait average of anxiety scores were high. It was found that there’s a strong negative correlation
between self compassion and trait anxiety.

Özel Eğitim Öğrencilerinin Öz Duyarlık ve Sürekli Kaygı Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişkinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, özel eğitim öğrencilerinin öz duyarlık ve sürekli kaygı düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya Marmara Üniversitesi Özel Eğitim Bölümü ve Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Özel Eğitim Bölümü’nden toplam 605 (189’u erkek,416’sı bayan) öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin öz duyarlık düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla Öz Duyarlık Ölçeği, sürekli kaygı düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla Sürekli Kaygı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma amaçları doğrultusunda öz duyarlık ve sürekli kaygı arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda özel eğitim öğrencilerinin öz duyarlık düzeyinin orta aralıkta olduğu, Sürekli kaygı düzeyinin ise yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonucunda öz duyarlık düzeyi ve sürekli kaygı düzeyi arasında kuvvetli bir negatif korelasyon olduğu saptanmıştır
