Relationships beıween students' coping strategies and their negative automatic thoughts and depression levels are examined in the paper. A group of 501 (285 female and 216 malej university students (with a mean age of 21.58) attending the Faculty ot' Education at Buca were examined using the Coping Strategy Indicator (CSI) to measure the coping styles; the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) to measure the level of depression and the Revised Automatic Thoughts Scale (ATS-R) to measure the negative automatic thoughts. Signilîcant relationships were established among CSI, BDI and ATS-R.
