GENÇ YETİȘKİNLERİN EVLİLİK VE AİLE HAYATINA İLİȘKİN GÖRÜȘLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma, genç yetişkinlerin evlilik ve aile hayatına ilişkin görüşlerini değerlendirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örneklem grubu 546 lisans ve tezsiz yüksek lisans öğrencisinden oluşmuştur. Öğrencilerin evlilik ve aile hayatına ilişkin görüşleri araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş, 109 maddeden oluşan bir anket yoluyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; erkeklerin kadınlara göre daha yüksek puan aldıkları maddelerden bazıları şunlardır: “evlilik dini bir zorunluluktur”, “boşanmak günahtır”, “evli bireyler başka romantik ilişkilere girebilirler”, “evlilikte ailenin reisi erkektir”, “evlilikte eşler birbirlerini dövebilirler”, “evin yönetimine eşlerin anne ve babaları da katılmalıdır”, “evlilikte eşitlik olmaz”. Kadınların erkeklere göre daha yüksek puan aldıkları bazı maddeler ise: “eşler tüm işleri paylaşmalıdır”, “evlilikte erkek mutlaka yaşça büyük olmalıdır”, “eşler birbirlerine karşı arkadaşça davranmalıdırlar”, “her iki eş de çalışmalıdır”, “kariyer sahibi olmak evlilikten daha önemlidir”, “evlilikte güç paylaşılmalıdır”, “evlilik gereksizdir” şeklindedir.

Investigation of Young Adults’ Views about Marriage and Family Life

Abstract

In this study, the investigation of young adults’ views about marriage and family

life was aimed. The sample of the study consists of 546 undergraduate and graduate

students. A scale which has been developed by researcher was used in order to determine

student’s views about marriage and family life. The results revealed that, for some items

men had higher scores than women such as “marriage is religious necessity”, “divorce is a sin”, “married couples may have other romantic relationships”, “man is the master of the
family”, “couples may beat each other”, “mother- in -law and father- in -law ought to be
involved in family management”, “there is no equality in a marriage”. According to other
results, for some items, women had higher scores than men such as, “couples ought to
share all the chores”, “husband must be older than wife”, “couples ought to treat friendly
each other”, “both spouse ought to have a job”, “having a career is more important than
getting married”, “power ought to be shared in a marriage”, “marriage is unnecessary”.
