Shaqīq al-Balkhī (d.194/810) is one of the most interesting Sufi figures, because he is Ibrahim b. Adham’s (d.161/778) disciple and Khātim al-Asamm’s (d.237/851) master. Probably, Shaqīq al-Balkhī was one of the first Sufis who treated the topic of states (ahwāl) and stations (maqāmāt) in a systematic manner. The epistle, Ādāb al-Ibādāt, attributed to Shaqīq al-Balkhī is a well-composed text which reflects Sufi priorities of the period when it was written. In this article, I have attempted to examine the sources providing information about the personality of Shaqīq alBalkhī, and tried to identify the context of Ādāb al-Ibādāt by relating it to the cultural environment of its composition period with respect to its textual properties and the issues discussed in it. I have also appended a Turkish translation of Ādāb al-Ibādāt to my article.
Öz: Şakîk-i Belhî (v. 194/810), İbrâhim b. Edhem’in (v. 161/778) mürîdi ve Hâtim el-Esamm’ın
(v. 237/851) mürşidi olması dolayısıyla tasavvuf târihinde dikkat çekici yere sâhip sûfîlerdendir.
Zîrâ bilindiği kadarıyla Şakîk-i Belhî, tasavvufî te’lif tarzı açısından hâller ve makamlar konusunu
sistemli bir şekilde ele alan ilk sûfîlerden birisidir ve ona nisbet edilen Âdâbü’l-ibâdât ismindeki
risâle döneminin tasavvufî önceliklerini yansıtan özlü bir metindir. Bu makālede Şakîk-i Belhî’nin
Anahtar Kelimeler: Şakîk-i Belhî, Âdâbü’l-ibâdât, Hâller ve Makamlar.
