Abstract
In traditional approach, organizational conflict was very simple and optimistic. In this approach, management solve their conflict problems by relying on formal authority and classical organizational restructuring. The new assumptions, however, suggest that conflict is inevitable, integral to the nature of the change, determined by structural factors such as physical shape of a building, the design of career structure or the nature of a class system and a minimal level of the conflict is optimal. The present day experts, therefore, emphasize the importance of making a cost benefit analysis of the conflict situation at any level. Organizations consist of various groups and interactive behaviors within groups as well as between groups and people are inevitable. Interactive behavior that occurs in organizations at the individual, interpersonal, group or organizational levels, results in conflict and consequently stress at all levels of organizations. In this study, the sources and the results of conflict are examined by conducting a questionnaire survey on police force in Niğde Police Station. The founding of this study tend to suggest the existance of the modern approach on conflict in Police Force sampled in this study.
