Abstract

It is thought that co-worker support in organizations will contribute to the well-being and happiness of individuals at workplace. However, when the literature was examined, it was noticed that this support scale was measured as a organizational support dimension. Therefore, this study focuses on the adaptation and linguistic equivalence of the co-worker support scale to the Turkish cultural structure, which was developed by Tews, Michel & Ellingson (2013), inspired by the studies of Settoon & Mosheldor (2002). In this adaptation study, the 5-step method suggested by Brislin, Lonner & Thorndike (1973) was used. Research sample is comprised of individuals working in the education (N = 413) and banking (n = 736) sector in Istanbul/Turkey. The data obtained by the online survey method were analyzed with the statistics package (SPSS and AMOS) eveloped for social sciences. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, which shows the internal consistency and reliability of the scale, was α =. 937 for the first sample group and α = .951 for the second sample group. The exploratory factor analysis performed showed that the scale has a two-dimensional factor structure similar to the original scale. With the confirmatory factor analysis, it was concluded that the two-factor structure of the scale was confirmed for both sample groups. The findings prove that the Co-worker Support Scale is a measurement instruments with high internal consistency and with proven structural validity.

ÇALIŞMA ARKADAŞI DESTEĞİ ÖLÇEĞİ (ÇAD): TÜRKÇE’YE UYARLAMA ÇALIŞMASI

Year 2021, Volume: 16 Issue: 56, 611 - 633, 31.07.2021
