THE USE OF PROBIOTICS AS FEED ADDITIVES IN POULTRY PRODUCTION

Abstract

Irrational use of antibiotics as growth promoter and as therapeutic agent in poultry is one of the important issues. International institutions and organizations related with public health deep concern to reduce the use of antibiotics in the feed of poultry animals. There is an increasing interest in finding alternatives to antibiotics in poultry production. Probiotics are one of the approaches that have a potential to reduce the infections in poultry animals. In this paper, mode of action, characteristics, definition factors considered in using and possibilities of using in poultry nutrition were reviewed
