Structure And Regional Economy Contribution Of Expenditure Of Vocational High School Students
Abstract
The number of vocational high schools and the departments and programs related to these schools is rising day by day in Turkey. Opening of the programs which is intended for the regions they are founded put forward the importance of the vocational high schools. In this aspect, these schools not only provide the needed qualified personnel to the region, but also the expenditure potential of the students draws attention of the related region. Lots of sectors get benefit from this potential and it accelerates the economy in the region thanks to contribution. In this study, the contributions that Adıyaman University Kahta Vocational High School has made for Kahta Province was put forward, besides the expenditure of the students studying in the Vocational High School was analyzed and evaluated. A questionnaire was applied in order to obtain the data and budget items of the School were used. According to study results, the first place for the students’ expenditure is the accommodation spending and it is determined that the school has a contribution with 6.873.000 TL for the Kahta province economy

Abstract
Türkiye’de meslek yüksekokulları ile bunlara bağlı bölüm ve programların sayısı günden güne artmaktadır. Kuruldukları bölgenin ihtiyaçlarına yönelik programların açılması meslek yüksekokullarının önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu bağlamda meslek yüksekokulları yörenin ihtiyaç duyduğu nitelikli ara elaman ihtiyacını karşılarken, öğrencilerin yaratmış olduğu harcama potansiyeli, ilgili bölgenin dikkatini çekmektedir. Birçok sektör bu harcama potansiyelinden yararlanmakta ve yaratığı katkı ile yöreye bir ekonomik ivme kazandırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Adıyaman Üniversitesi Kahta Meslek Yüksekokulu’nun Kahta ilçesine yaptığı katkılar ortaya konmuş, meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin harcama yapıları analiz edilerek değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Verilerin elde edilmesinde öğrencilere anket uygulamış ve Kahta Meslek Yüksek Okulu’nun bütçe kalemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda öğrenci harcamalarında ilk sırayı barınma harcamalarının aldığı, Kahta MYO’nun ilçe ekonomisine toplamda yaklaşık 6.873.000 TL’lik bir katkısı olduğu belirlenmiştir
