Medeniyet Journal of Cultural Research is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Letters at İstanbul Medeniyet Üniversitesi. The journal features original and high-quality scholarly studies in the fields of social sciences and humanities. By encouraging methodological and theoretical interaction among different disciplines, the journal aims to establish a comprehensive and critical academic platform centered on cultural studies.
The Journal publishes theoretical and applied research articles, review essays, and critical evaluations from various sub-disciplines of the social sciences and humanities, including but not limited to linguistics and literature, history, philosophy, history of science, art history, psychology, and sociology. In addition to studies that examine cultural phenomena in their historical, social, and intellectual dimensions, particular importance is given to interdisciplinary and comparative research.
The journal supports original contributions that analyze cultural phenomena within both local and global contexts and that demonstrate strong methodological coherence. In this respect, it seeks to contribute to national and international academic literature while upholding ethical principles, transparency, and academic excellence in scholarly publishing.
All submissions undergo a preliminary editorial review in accordance with scientific ethical principles and international publishing standards. Manuscripts deemed suitable are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers. Academic impartiality, objectivity, and scholarly quality constitute the fundamental principles of the evaluation process. The publication policy is conducted in line with research and publication ethics, anti-plagiarism standards, and respect for copyright.
Medeniyet Journal of Cultural Research is published biannually (June and December) and adopts a publication policy that supports open science and academic dissemination. The journal aims to become a respected and authoritative academic platform in the field of cultural studies.
