Antalya koşullarında sıcaklık-nem indeks değerlerinin süt sığırcılığı açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Çevre koşullarının etkisi tüm canlılarda olduğu gibi süt sığırlarında da çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Özellikle, beslenme ve iklim parametrelerinin (sıcaklık, nem, hava hızı vb.) yüksek verimli süt sığırları üzerine etkisi önemlidir. Süt sığırları belirli derecelerin üzerindeki sıcaklık ve nem etkileşiminden ortaya çıkan ısı stresine hassasiyet göstermektedirler. Yüksek sıcaklık ve nemle birlikte oluşan ısı stresini kantitatif olarak ifade etmekte kullanılan yöntemlerden biride “Sıcaklık-Nem İndeksi” (THI)’dir. Farklı sıcaklık ve nisbi nem kombinasyonlarından kaynaklanan THI değerlerini tespit etmek ve bu değerlere göre bakım ve beslenme rejimleri uygulamak günümüzde başlıca yetiştirme kriterleri arasındadır. Bu çalışmada, Antalya ili meteoroloji istasyonlarından alınan uzun yıllık veriler kullanılarak THI değerleri hesaplanmış; ısı stresinin oluştuğu dönemler belirlenmiş ve bu dönemler için bakım-besleme ve diğer koşullar için öneriler ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmalar sonunda Elmalı, Korkuteli, Akseki ve İbradı ilçelerinin tüm yıl boyunca süt sığırı yetiştiriciliği için uygun yerler olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Evaluation of temperature-humidity index values on dairy cattle in Antalya conditions

Abstract

Environmental conditions affect living organism as well as dairy cattle in different ways. Especially, nutrition and climatic parameters such as temperature and humidity have impact on high yielding dairy cattle. Dairy cattle are sensitive to temperature-humidity interaction that is threshold value. Temperature-Humidity Index (THI) is one of the methods to express the combined effects of temperature and humidity together on dairy cattle. In this study, the long term climatic parameters obtained from different location in Antalya were used to compute THI values that show the suitable locations to breed dairy cattle. It was determined that Elmalı-Korkuteli and Akseki-İbradı counties are the suitable places to breed dairy cattle.
