Abstract
Orhan Pamuk, the frontrunner of his literature, is a writer who has been talked about his booms on various topics and political attitudes rather than what he has written. The discussions about the literal value and aesthetic quality of what he has written continue in a restricted frame and evaluations are being done about this topic according to the receptions taken from the translations in other languages. This situation –necessarily- bears this very fundamental question in mind: Is the literal-aesthetic quality of a writer understood better either in the original language in which the work is written or a in the languages to which it is translated? This short study looks for an answer to this very question in the German-translated version of the novel “Kar” (Snow).
