Turkish validity and reliability study of the Clinical Reasoning Competency Scale for nurses

Abstract

Aim: The study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability of the Clinical Reasoning Competency Scale for Nurses in Turkish. Method: The methodological type study was conducted with 304 nurses working in a university hospital. Data of the study was collected using the 'Individual Information Form' and the 'Clinical Reasoning Competence Scale for Nurses'. Results: The Content Validity Index of each question was found to be above 0.80. The KMO value of the scale was 0.895 and the Bartlett Sphericity test was significant (χ2 = 2581.802, p<0.001). The AVE values for each factor were found to be between (0.41-0.47). CR values were found to be between (0.77-0.91). The corrected item-total correlations of the scale were between 0.381 and 0.645, indicating that it had good internal consistency. The reliability coefficient of all items of the scale was determined to be 0.90 and the Cronbach's α values of the sub-dimensions were between 0.81 and 0.86. Conclusion: It was concluded that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for nurses.

Hemşireler için Klinik Akıl Yürütme Yeterlilik Ölçeği’nin Türkçe geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışma Hemşireler İçin Klinik Akıl Yürütme Yeterlilik Ölçeği’nin Türkçe geçerlik ve güvenirliğini yapmak amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Metodolojik tipte oluşturulan çalışma, bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışan 304 hemşire ile yürütüldü. Çalışmanın verileri; ‘Bireysel Bilgi Formu’ ve ‘Hemşireler İçin Klinik Akıl Yürütme Yeterlilik Ölçeği’ kullanılarak toplandı. Bulgular: Kapsam Geçerlik İndeksi her sorunun 0.80’in üzerinde olduğu saptandı. Ölçeğin KMO değeri 0.895 ve Bartlett Sphericity testi anlamlıdır (χ2 = 2581.802, p<0.001). Her bir faktör için bakılan AVE değerleri (0.41-0.47) arasında olduğu saptandı. CR değerlerinin (0.77-0.91) arasında olduğu saptandı. Ölçeğin düzeltilmiş madde-toplam korelasyonları 0.381 ile 0.645 arasında olduğu ve iyi bir iç tutarlılığa sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Ölçeğin tüm maddelerinin güvenirlik katsayısı 0.90 olduğu ve alt boyutların Cronbach α değerleri 0.81 ile 0.86 arasında olduğu belirlendi. Sonuç: Ölçeğin hemşireler için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
