Abstract Palliative Radiotherapy Treatment Case of the HIV-Negative Classic Kaposi's Sarcoma Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) was described in 1872 by Moritz Kaposi as multiple benign pigmentous idiopathic hemorrhagic sarcoma of skin. KS had become widespread in 1980s due to the increasing number of affected patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It has various types such as classical, endemic, and immun deficiency associated types, showing similar immunochemical findings and histopathological appearances. Also, AIDS associated Kaposi\'s sarcoma can be included to this categorization. Radiation therapy often represents the optimal local therapy for palliation of pain, bleeding or oedema in this radioresponsive tumour type. In this report, a case of an 84-year-old male patient with painful and bleeding lesions, diagnosed with classical KS in Ankara University, Department of Dermatology and received radiotherapy with successfull response was presented.
