AbstractMidwifes, Gynecologist and Female Doctors in the Period of Classical Medicine Medical activities during the gynecological diseases and the parturition, in the period of classical medicine were different from today. It was believed that medical aid was unnecessary at birth and birth assistance was considered as a separate part of gynecology. In general, female physicians and midwifes examined female patients. Male physicians were rarely asked for help. Female patients with gynecological problems and pregnants have experienced a great deal of difficulty obtaining medical support for a long time during the period of classical medical practice. The involvement of female midwives or physicians brought a limited solution to this problem.
