Deneysel Araştırmalarda Latin Kare Deneme Düzenlerinin Kullanımı

Abstract

Abstract Use of Latin Square Designs in Experimental Research All the factors that may cause variation in experimental material in experimental research should be kept under control to monitor the change in last variables with least error. If necessary, blocking should be made or the variables influencing the results should be included to the model as covariate. Advanced experimental designs are available to investigate the influence of a therapy or an implementation with the least sample size, considering the factors causing variations in a clinical trials or animal experiments. Latin square experimental design is only one of these methods, but it is a special experimental design requiring special care for implementation. The prerequisite of this experimental design is the equavalency of the factors disrupting the homogeneity of the number of treatments under examination to the number of categories. Advanced type designs are available for the situations in which these requirements are not fullfiled and the number of factors causing variation are more than two. In this review, it is aimed to explain implementations of Latin Square trial designs and to define the purposes behind this applications in experimental research.

Abstract

Türkçe Özet: Deneysel araştırmalarda, sonuç değişkenindeki değişimi en az hata ile gözleyebilmek için, deneme materyalinde varyasyona sebep olabilecek diğer bütün faktörlerin kontrol altında tutulması gerekir. Eğer gerekliyse bloklama yapılmalı veya sonucu etkileyen değişkenler kovaryant olarak modele dahil edilmelidir. Bir klinik denemede veya bir hayvan deneyinde, varyasyona sebep olan faktörleri dikkate alarak, en az örnek genişliğiyle tedavi veya uygulama etkisini incelemek için geliştirilmiş deney tasarımları mevcuttur. Latin kare denemeler de bu yöntemlerden sadece biri olmakla birlikte, dikkatle uygulanması gerektiğinden özel bir deney tasarımıdır. Test edilecek tedavi sayısının homojenliği bozan faktörlerin kategori sayısına eşit olması bu deney tasarımının ön koşuludur. Bu koşulun sağlanamadığı ve varyasyona sebep olan faktör sayısının ikiden fazla olduğu durumlar için geliştirilmiş türleri mevcuttur. Bu derlemede Latin kare deneme düzenlerinin, deneysel araştırmalarda nasıl ve hangi amaçlarla kullanıldığının açıklanması amaçlanmıştır.

MEU Journal of Health Sciences Assoc was began to the publishing process in 2008 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Gönül Aslan, Editor-in-Chief, and affiliated to Mersin University Institute of Health Sciences. In March 2015, Prof. Dr. Caferi Tayyar Şaşmaz undertook the Editor-in Chief position and since then he has been in charge.

Publishing in three issues per year (April - August - December), it is a multisectoral refereed scientific journal. In addition to research articles, scientific articles such as reviews, case reports and letters to the editor are published in the journal. Our journal, which has been published via e-mail since its inception, has been published both online and in print. Following the Participation Agreement signed with TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Dergi Park in April 2015, it has started to accept and evaluate online publications.

Mersin University Journal of Health Sciences have been indexed by Turkey Citation Index since November 16, 2011.

Mersin University Journal of Health Sciences have been indexed by ULAKBIM Medical Database from the first issue of 2016.
