Parkinson hastalığı ve diz sinoviyal kondromatozisin eş zamanlı birlikte bulunması

Year 2020, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 465 - 468, 05.12.2020

Abstract

Coexistence of parkinson's disease and synovial chondromatosis of knee

Year 2020, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 465 - 468, 05.12.2020

Abstract

Synovial chondromatosis is a rare benign arthropathy with unknown etiology. Synovial chondromatosis is mostly seen in large joints such as knee, hip, elbow, shoulder, and ankle. The exact etiology is unclear and is thought to be a synovial metaplasia. Parkinson's disease is a progressive multisystem neurodegenerative disease affecting people mainly in later years of life. When disease symptoms become more pronounced, the patient experiences difficulties with hand function and walking, and is prone to falls. Here we report the coexistence of Parkinson’s disease and knee synovial chondromatosis, a joint pathology with a potential effect on proprioception. We would like to draw attention to the unfavourite synergistic effect of these two conditions and remind the clinicians about the accompanying joint pathologies in neurologic diseases.
