HOW CAN WE HAVE AN EFFICIENT MUSEUM VISIT?

Abstract

The museums are places where the objects and stories belonging to the fields of culture, art, nature, science and technology are sheltered in. Learning from real objects found in the museums is more relevant and exciting, besides an effective learning comes true. One of the most important tasks of the museum is to educate and inform people. For this purpose, museum education units have been established especially in developed countries and educational activities for schools, teachers, public, families, all types of disability groups and institutions have been established and museum education services have continued to increase with the achievements of museum learning. Educational units are established in our country’s museums and education services for schools, teachers, disabled people, public and institutions are increasing day by day. However these services are not enough to serve all our schools and teachers. Lessons about museum education in the education process of our teachers are not included in many department programs yet in Turkey. From this point of view, I have been working on the theme how our teachers can perform a productive museum visit with the articles entitled “Visiting a Programmed Museum and Following the Application”(Buyurgan), “Museum Education and Practices Book in Visual Arts Education”(Buyurgan&Mercin), “Museum Visit Process” and “Art Education and Education Book” (Buyurgan&Buyurgan) in the Department of Visual Arts Education in the Museum, in line “How Can We Benefit More Effectively From Educators?” and “Steps to Visit an Efficient Museum”. In this research modeled study, the achievements of the museum learning were revealed and the way of organizing an efficient visit to the museum, which emphasized the importance of using museums as educational environment, was dealt with in all dimensions
