THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CRISIS MANAGEMENT ABILITIES OF THE MANAGERS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND THE SOCIAL CAPITAL LEVEL OF THE INSTITUTION

Abstract

In this study, the relationship between the crisis management abilities of the managers in secondary schools and the social capital level of the institution isresearched. The environment of the research, which is carried by using the relational scanning tecnique of quantitative tecniques, consists of the secondary school teachers who are in duty in Gaziantep’s Şehitkâmil district. Sample includes ramdomly choosen 418 teachers. Data is collected from the 31-item-scale of the primary school managers’ crisis management abilities developed by Aksu and Deveci (2009) and from the Töremen’s (2002) the Social Capital Scale’s first 21 item which includes the dimension of ‘’Propositions about our school teachers’’. According to the results of the study, it is seen that, there is a positive relationship between the crisis managemnet abilities, crisis management abilities’ sub-dimensions and social capital. Furthermore, with the result of the regression analysis made, it is seen that crisis management abilities predicts social capital meaningfully
