MAKING USE OF HISTORICAL TEXTS IN CHILDREN’S LITERATURE: GARİBNAME BY ÂŞIK PAŞA

Abstract

Individuals who are in childhood and early adolescence are different from grown-ups whith their unique physical and mental characteristics.Individuals of these age groups who have special conditions and priveleges have daily needs such as nutrition. Dressing up etc as well as the need for oral and written literary works which will feed their mental world, contribute to their character and meet their aesthetic needs. All works of art which are produced for his purpose are evaluated within children’s literature.Texts of children’s literature are either written as authentic texts all over the world or new texts are formed based on old oral or written texts.Turkish literature includes many works of art suitable for adaptation to children’s literature.In our study, we try to show that this text and similar texts can contribute to the teaching of abstract notions in children and adoloscent basing our study on four stories in Garibname by Âşık Paşa
