ANALYSING OF INFORMATIVE TEXTS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL TURKISH TEXT BOOKS IN TERMS OF VALUES TRANSMISSION

Abstract

The texts which are primary resources of language teaching both teach the students to use Turkish language effectively and are the means used most frequently to adopt the national, moral and universal values on the way to be human. In this context, the aim of this research is to determine which values the informative texts in the secondary school Turkish text books transmit and specify the distribution of these values. The target population of the research comprises of all published secondary school Turkish text books. 21 informative texts of 2. Grade FMC Publishing, 16 informative texts of 6. Grade Gizem Publishing, 20 informative texts of 7. Grade Cem Ofset Publishing and 18 informative texts of 8. Grade Yıldırım Publishing were chosen with the random sampling method. A list related to values was drawn up by taking values in the curriculum of Turkish and Social Studies Courses into consideration for the research and texts were scanned one by one. This list was shaped and developed by analyzing the Turkish text books. In the result of the study, the finding that the national, moral and universal values are not given full play in texts of Turkish text books was reached. Depending upon the data acquired in the result of the research, it is thought that this study will be a guide about the points to take into consideration in the selection of texts related to values transmission

ORTAOKUL TÜRKÇE DERS KİTAPLARINDAKİ BİLGİLENDİRİCİ METİNLERİN DEĞER İLETİMİ AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Dil öğretiminin temel kaynakları olan metinler, öğrencilere Türkçeyi etkili bir şekilde kullanmayı öğretmenin yanında insanı insan yapan milli, manevi ve evrensel değerlerin benimsetilmesinde en sık kullanılan araç olma özelliğine sahiptir. Bu kapsamda ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki bilgilendirici metinlerin hangi değerleri ilettiğini tespit etmek ve bu değerlerin dağılımını belirlemek bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini, yayınlanan bütün ortaokul Türkçe ders kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem olarak random yöntemiyle 5.sınıf FCM Yayıncılık’tan 21, 6.sınıf Gizem Yayıncılık’tan 16, 7.sınıf Cem Ofset Yayıncılık’tan 20 ve 8.sınıf Yıldırım Yayınları’ndan 18 bilgilendirici metin seçilmiştir. Araştırma için Türkçe ve Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretim Programı’ndaki değerler göz önünde bulundurularak bir liste oluşturulmuş ve metinler teker teker taranmıştır. Türkçe ders kitapları incelendikçe bu liste şekillendirilip geliştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda Türkçe ders kitapları oluşturulurken metinlerde milli, ahlaki ve evrensel değerlere yeterince yer verilmediği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilere dayanılarak, değerler iletimi ile ilgili metinler seçilirken nelere dikkat edilmesi gerektiği hususunda çalışmanın yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir
