AN ASSESSMENT OF THE SCHOOL DIRECTORS’ OPINIONS ON THE OBSTACLES TO EFFECTIVE INSPECTION AT SCHOOLS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to bring out the obstacles which prevent the inspection period from being effective in accordance with the opinions of the school directors. This research has been carried out through the “descriptive survey model” and the present situation at schools has been illustrated and analyzed as much the same. The population of the research consists of 80 school directors in the center of Sanlıurfa and in the schools of the towns of Akcakale and Viransehir. In this study, the semi-structured interview has been used for obtaining more systematical and more comparable qualitative data. Therefore, a semi-structured interview form consisting of five questions, has been prepared by the researcher. The experts have been consulted in order to check the validity of the form. Data collection instrument used in this study has been developed on the basis of the opinions of experts at Zirve University; Prof. Dr. Tokay GEDIKOGLU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARAKUS and the lecturer at Sutcu Imam University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut SAGIR. The frequency of the school directors’ answers to the semi-structured interview has been calculated, the tableaus have been formed and interpreted
