BASIC STUDIES RELATED WITH PRIMARY EDUCATION SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHING EDUCATION LEARNING STATUS

Abstract

The fundamental aim of this study is to determine researches related with status of social studies education teaching-learning conducted in the process from 2000 to present-day (2009) in education of social studies in primary education to shed light to research hereafter and to determine fields related with status of education teaching-learning social studies required to be given priority. Besides, it is about informing researchers about aim, implemented methods and outcomes of these academic studies. The items constituting data to these researches have been obtained as a result of collection scanning. As a result of archive scanning, 19 periodical publications and paper booklets submitted in 2 national congresses, most of which are publications of education faculties have been examined for years between 2000-2009. Furthermore post-graduate and PhD theses prepared in education teaching-learning social studies has been determined between referred dates. The data obtained thereafter were made subject to frequency, percentage application and content analysis to evaluate. In the analysis of data, papers and articles were encoded with respect to place, date of their publication, author and page numbers, and theses with respect to university, authors and dates of publishing to resort to such classification.
