Development of a Knowledge Test on Teaching Models Used in Physical Education Pedagogy: Validity and Reliability Study

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable knowledge test that can be used to measure the knowledge of prospective Physical Education and Sports Teachers about the teaching models used in physical education pedagogy. 287 prospective Physical Education and Sports Teachers participated in the study voluntarily. It was aimed to measure 9 subject knowledge related to 7 acquisitions about Instructional Models used in physical education pedagogy. In this context, a specification table was prepared and a trial question pool consisting of 95 items was prepared to measure the gains and topics in this table. The experimental items were applied to the Physical Education and Sports Teacher candidates in three sessions in the classes of face-to-face universities. After the items with low discrimination were removed, 31 items with the highest discrimination and medium difficulty were selected in the final test, which were planned in the final test in line with the analyses made and included the items measuring each target outcome in the specification table, and the final test ‘Teaching Models Used in Physical Education Pedagogy Knowledge Test’ was created. The average difficulty coefficient of the final test was 0,412, the average of the discrimination coefficients of the differences of the correct numbers of the 27% lower and 27% upper groups was 0,538, the average of the item total correlation coefficients was 0,479 and the KR20 internal consistency coefficient was 0,890. It was found that the 31 items with the highest discrimination were very well discriminative and of medium difficulty. This developed knowledge test was determined to be a valid and reliable test with 5 options to measure the level of knowledge of Physical Education and Sports Teacher candidates about the teaching models used in physical education pedagogy (Basic Concept, Direct teaching model, individualised teaching model, cooperative teaching model, peer teaching model, sports education model, tactical game model, research teaching model and individual and social responsibility model) with a high discrimination index of medium difficulty and high discrimination index.

Beden Eğitimi Pedagojisinde Kullanılan Öğretim Modelleri ile İlgili Bilgi Testinin Geliştirilmesi: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni adaylarının beden eğitimi pedagojisinde kullanılan öğretim modellerine ilişkin bilgilerini ölçmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir bilgi testi geliştirmektir. Araştırmaya 287 Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni adayı gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Beden eğitimi pedagojisinde kullanılan Öğretim Modellerine yönelik 7 kazanıma ilişkin 9 konu bilgisinin ölçülmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu bağlamda bir belirtke tablosu hazırlanmış ve bu tabloda kazanım ve konuları ölçmek amacıyla 95 maddeden oluşan denemelik soru havuzu hazırlanmıştır. Yüz yüze üniversitelerin sınıflarında üç oturum şeklinde denemelik maddeler Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni adaylarına uygulanmıştır. Ayırt ediciliği düşük olan maddeler çıkarıldıktan sonra yapılan analizler doğrultusunda nihai testte planlanan ve belirtke tablosunda her hedef kazanımı ölçen maddelerin yer aldığı ayırt ediciliği en yüksek orta güçlükte olan 31 madde seçilerek “Beden Eğitimi Pedagojisinde Kullanılan Öğretim Modelleri Bilgi Testi” nihai test oluşturulmuştur. Nihai testin ortalama güçlük katsayısı 0,412 %27’lik alt ve %27’lik üst grubun doğru sayılarının farklarına ait ayırt edicilik katsayılarının ortalaması 0,538 madde toplam korelasyon katsayılarının ortalaması 0,479 ve KR20 iç tutarlılık katsayısı ise 0,890 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayırt ediciliği en yüksek olarak seçilen 31 maddenin çok iyi ayırt edici ve orta düzey güçlükte maddeler olduğu saptanmıştır. Geliştirilen bu bilgi testi Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni adaylarının beden eğitimi pedagojisinde kullanılan öğretim modellerine (Temel kavramlar, Doğrudan öğretim modeli, bireyselleştirilmiş öğretim modeli, iş birlikli öğrenme modeli, akran öğretim modeli, spor eğitim modeli, taktiksel oyun modeli, araştırma öğretim modeli ve bireysel ve sosyal sorumluluk modeli) ilişkin bilgi seviyelerini ölçmeye yönelik, orta güçlükte ayırt edicilik indeksinin yüksek olduğu bilen ve bilmeyeni ayırt edebildiği 5 seçenekli geçerli ve güvenilir bir test olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
