Design, as an action and a profession, appears in every field of life and is even located at the center of life. For this reason, designers have an important influence on society. While the designer, design process and outcomes affect society and nature, the ethical principles also affect the designer, the design process and its outcomes. In this context, in terms of design disciplines, ethics is wide-range concept and has a critical importance. Ethical behavior for the designer requires being responsible and taking responsibility. In recent years, the solution of problems occurring all over the world requires taking ethical decisions and at the same time increases the responsibilities of designer. The purpose of this study is to draw attention to the importance of the concept of ethics in landscape design and the responsibilities of the designer. For this purpose, ethics, professional ethics and responsibility concepts have been explained : the ethical principles set by professional organizations in national and international scales have been addressed. The designers | ethical environmental and social responsibilities and design approaches covering these responsibilities have been explained : recommendations for the development of occupational ethics in terms of design in landscape architecture in Turkey have been made.
