THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARTICIPATION IN DECISION MAKING AND JOB SATISFACTION: RESEARCH ON BANK EMPLOYEES

Year 2016, Volume: 5 Issue: 4, 97 - 111, 01.10.2016

Abstract

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between bank employees’ participation in decision making and their job satisfaction. The sample of study consisted of 135 bank employees determined according to convenience sampling method. Structured questionnaire forms were used as the data collection instrument. Demographic information related to the participants were gathered through “Personal Information Form” designed by the researchers, data related to participation in decision making was obtained through “Organizational Participation Scale” developed by Kahnweiler and Thompson (2000) while data on job satisfaction was collected through “Job Satisfaction Scale” developed by Brown and Peterson in 1994. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation), correlation and regression analyses were made use of. The findings gathered indicate that the participants’ perceptions of their participation in decision making and their job satisfaction are at a moderate level; that there is a positive and moderate relationship between the participation in decision making and job satisfaction and that the participation in decision making affects job satisfaction

KARARLARA KATILIM VE İŞ DOYUMU ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ: BANKA ÇALIŞANLARI ÜZERİNDE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Year 2016, Volume: 5 Issue: 4, 97 - 111, 01.10.2016
