WORK AND LEISURE CONFLICT LEVEL OF EMPLOYEES: JOB BURNOUT AND LIFE SATISFACTION RELATIONSHIP: A CASE STUDY ON 4-5 STARS HOTEL EMPLOYEES IN ANKARA

Year 2017, Volume: 6 Issue: 1, 95 - 112, 01.01.2017

Abstract

Work and leisure conflict scale in this study was adapted from one of work-family conflict scale’s dimensions called time based conflict by Wong and Lin (2007). This study aims to determine the correlation among work-leisure conflict, job burnout, life satisfaction. Target population of the study was selected 4-5 stars hotel employees in Ankara. After reliability analysis, the scale items were determined as reliable with a high degree. Looking the kurtosis and skew results of scale items, it was understood that all scale items performed normal distribution. With correlation analysis, it was determined that there is a significant relationship among work leisure conflict, job burnout and life satisfaction degree with mid-level and low level. After this results, it was decided to implement a regression analysis in order to determine reasonable effect among work-leisure conflict, job burnout and life satisfaction degree. With the result of regression analysis, it was determined that work-leisure conflict has low and mid-level reasonable effects on job burnout and life satisfaction degree. In this study it was used Maslach Burnout Inventory. Maslach explains the job burnout under 3 dimensions. In the analyses of this study, it was taken into account 3 dimension of job burnout separately. In this study, it was practiced the ANOVA analysis in order to determine the differentiations between scales and demographic variables. With ANOVA analysis, it was seen that there is significant difference between work duration and work leisure conflict and it was determined that there is significant difference between position of employees and life satisfaction degree

İşgörenlerin İş ve Serbest Zaman Çatışma Düzeyleri ile Mesleki Tükenmişlik ve Yaşam Tatmini İlişkisi: Ankara’daki 4-5 Yıldızlı Otel Çalışanları Üzerine Bir Uygulama

Year 2017, Volume: 6 Issue: 1, 95 - 112, 01.01.2017
