The subject and scope of the research is the examination of economical and social effects of the Dordoy Market, which was established in the capital city of Bishkek in 1991 after independence, with the available resources, interviews and participatory observation technique. Dordoy (Dordoi) Market, one of the markets of Kyrgyzstan and the region, is a social project as well as an economic project. The Market, which was financed by a Kyrgyz entrepreneur and established in late 1991, consists of more than ten sub-markets. It also establishes the connection of small, medium and large enterprises with the global world with its trade network from China to Russia, Turkey, Europe and Arab countries. With a versatile employment opportunity and structure, it directly influences the lives of around 60 thousand people and provides for families. While the year 2021 is celebrated as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Kyrgyz Republic, it is an economy and workplace region as old as the state. It has been the dynamo of the country's economy and one of the biggest livelihoods of the people. Dordoy Market has partially caused internal migration due to its economic attractiveness, and sometimes even caused return migration. In addition, it continues to be a frequent destination for wholesalers not only from Kyrgyzstan but also from neighbouring countries. Most of the products come from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Türkiye and European countries, and most of them are sold to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In the study, the economic and social transformations that take place through a market are examined and its contribution to the country's economy is tried to be examined.
