Ömer Seyfettin, who has a distinguished place in Turkish literature, emphasized the importance of national consciousness in both his stories and articles. Ömer Seyfettin, who sometimes exemplifies what should happen with falsely and sometimes carries it into the world of fiction and tries to make the reader sense the right/good/beautiful on behalf of the Turkish nation, believes that national consciousness keeps the national memory alive and contributes to the identity formation. In this context, one of the most important factors that contribute to the realization of identity formation in his stories is mothers. Mothers are valued for being carriers and relays of cultural memory beyond bringing the child into the world. Ömer Seyfettin emphasizes the importance and role of mothers in the identity formation through mothers who give or cannot give the child language, history and religion consciousness, raise or raise the child with the financial and spiritual values of the society he or she belongs, and who cannot give or gain a sense of national and religious belonging to the child, and also emphasizes the importance and role of mothers in the identity formation through mothers who cannot give or give the child the consciousness of language, history and religion, and also emphasizes the extent to which marriages with Turkish and foreign women are effective in the formation of the child's identity. In this study, which focuses on the stories of İlk Namaz, Fon Sadriştayn’ın Karısı, Fon Sadriştayn’ın Oğlu and Piç, the connection between mother-child-identity formation will be tried to be revealed with comparisons between mothers and children in the stories.
