Özel Yeteneklilerin Eğitimi Alanı Öğretmen Mesleki Yeterlik Ölçeği (ÖYEMYÖ): Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Abstract

Araştırmalara göre eğitimde öğrencilerin yaşam boyu başarıya ulaşmaları ve yeteneklerini kalıcı başarıya dönüştürmelerinde en büyük etken faktör öğretmendir. Özel yetenekli öğrencilerin sahip oldukları özellikler göz önünde bulundurulduğunda ise, onların eğitiminde görev alacak öğretmenlerin bazı özel kişisel ve mesleki özelliklere sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu öğrencilerin eğitsel taleplerinin daha fazla olması, sosyal, duygusal ve zihinsel duyarlılıklarının yüksek olması gibi nedenlerle onlarla çalışacak öğretmenlerin nitelikleri ve yeterliliklerinin çok daha önemli hale geldiği ifade edilebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı öğretmenlerin özel yeteneklilerin eğitimi alanı yeterliklerini kendi algılarına dayalı olarak değerlendirilmesine yönelik, 5’li Likert tipi bir ölçek geliştirilmesidir. Toplam 414 sınıf öğretmeni çalışmada katılımcı olarak yer almıştır. Yapılan alan taramasının ardından, temel bileşenler analizi ve maksimum değişkenlik analizine göre ölçeğin 8 faktörlü olarak kabul edilmesinin faktörlere isim verilmesi açısından da anlamlı olacağı uzman görüşleri de alınarak kararlaştırılmıştır. Bu faktörler ölçeğe yerleştirme sırasıyla: Özel Yetenekliler Alanı Temel Bilgiler, Özel Yeteneklileri Eğitiminde Kullanılan Öğretim Model ve Yöntemleri, Özel Yetenekliler için Bireyselleştirilmiş Eğitim Programı, Özel Yeteneklilerde Tanılama ve Değerlendirme, Özel Yeteneklilerin Eğitiminde Öğretmen Nitelikleri ve Sorumlulukları, Özel Yeteneklilerin Eğitiminde Etkili Sınıf Yönetimi, Özel Yetenekliler için Materyal Geliştirme/Teknoloji Kullanımı ve Özel Yeteneklilerin Eğitiminde İşbirliği ve Aile Eğitimi olarak adlandırılmıştır. Yapılan açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda, 5 maddenin çıkarılması ile ölçek 40 maddeden oluşan son halini almıştır. bu sekiz faktörün kümülatif olarak toplam varyansın yüzde 68,755’ini açıkladığı görülmektedir. Ölçeğe ilişkin Guttman Split-Half katsayısı .81; Spearman- Brown katsayısı ise .82 olarak saptanmıştır. Birinci yarının Cronbach Alpha değeri .85; ikinci yarının Cronbach Alpha değeri .84, iki yarı arasındaki korelasyon ise .81’dir. Ölçek toplam Cronbach Alfa katsayısının .92 olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Gifted Students’ Teachers Professional Competence Scale (GTPCS): Validity and Reliability Study

Abstract

lifelong success is the teacher. Considering the characteristics of gifted students, teachers who will take part in their education should have some special personal and professional characteristics. It can be stated that the qualifications and competences of the teachers who will work with these students have become much more important due to the fact that these students have more educational demands and have high social, emotional and mental sensitivity. The aim of this study is to develop a 5-point Likert-type scale to evaluate teachers' competences in the field of gifted education based on their own perceptions. A total of 414 classroom teachers participated in the study. After the literature review, according to the principal components analysis and maximum variability analysis, it was decided that it would be meaningful to accept the scale with 8 factors in terms of naming the factors by taking expert opinions. These factors are in the order of placement in the scale: Basic Information on Giftedness, Teaching Models and Methods Used in Gifted Education, Individualised Education Programme for Giftedness, Identification and Evaluation in Giftedness, Teacher Standards and Responsibilities in Gifted Education, Effective Classroom Management in Gifted Education, Material Development/Technology Use for Giftedness, Collaboration and Family Education in Gifted Education. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, 5 items were removed and the scale was finalised with 40 items. these eight factors cumulatively explained 68.755 percent of the total variance. The Guttman Split-Half coefficient of the scale was .81 and the Spearman-Brown coefficient was .82. The Cronbach Alpha value of the first half was .85, the Cronbach Alpha value of the second half was .84, and the correlation between the two halves was .81. The total Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be .92.
