Abstract

From the beginning of the second part of thetwentieth century, not only in the industrial capitalist societies but also in the other nations, importance of productivity has been emphasized in theworkplaces. Considerable increases in work pace,atypical work contracts, including part time workand instable work, night and shift work have beenintroduced into the working life. With regard tothe changes, work stress or more comprehensivelypsychosocial work environment has been arousingmore interest in the occupational health area.This paper aimed to summarize the theoreticalmodels of psychosocial work environment with regard to historical perspectives
