Abstract

Drilling mud is a vitally important fluid that performs important tasks such as cleaning the bottom of the well, cooling and lubricating the drill string, controlling high pressure formations and protecting against corrosion. In this study Al2O3NPs/MWCNTs was produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, characterized by X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and then added to water based drilling fluids in different ratios (0.001 - 0.01% w/v). The rheological analyzes of the prepared drilling fluids such as plastic viscosity (PV), apparent viscosity (AV), breaking point (YP), gel strength (10 seconds and 10 minutes) were performed by FANN viscometer and loss of liquid (filtration) and drilling fluid cake thickness analyzes were performed by American Petroleum Institute (API) liquid loss test equipment. Compared with pure water based drilling fluid; Al2O3NPs/MWCNTs increased the PV value of water based drilling fluid by 85.7%, AV value by 41.8%, YP value by 20%, 10 seconds and 10 minutes by 16.6% and 11% respectively, and decreased filtration loss value by 13.8%; At the same time, the value of cake thickness increased by 18.5%.

Abstract

Sondaj çamuru kuyu tabanın temizlenmesi, yüksek basınçlı formasyonları kontrol etme, korozyona karşı koruma gibi önemli görevleri yerine getiren hayati derece öneme sahip bir akışkandır. Bu çalışmada Al2O3NP/ÇDKNT; kimyasal buhar biriktirme (CVD) yöntemi ile üretilmiş, X-Işını Fotoelektron Spektroskopisi (XPS) ve Geçirimli Elektron Mikroskobu (TEM) ile karakterize edilmiş, ardından su bazlı sondaj çamurlarına farklı oranlarda (0.001 – 0.01% k/h) eklenmiştir. Hazırlanan sondaj çamurlarının plastik viskozitesi (PV), görünür viskozitesi (AV), kopma noktası (YP), jel mukavemeti (10 saniye ve 10 dakika) gibi reolojik analizleri FANN viskozimetresi ile, sıvı (filtrasyon) kaybı ve sondaj çamuru kek kalınlığı analizleri de Amerikan Petrol Enstitüsü (API) sıvı kaybı test ekipmanları ile API standartlarına uygun olacak şekilde yapılmıştır. Katkısız su bazlı sondaj çamuru ile karşılaştırıldığında; Al2O3NP/ÇDKNT’ün su bazlı sondaj çamurlarının PV değerini %85.7, AV değerini %41.8, YP değerini %20, 10 saniye ve 10 dakika değerlerini sırasıyla %16.6 ve %11 oranında arttırdığı, filtrasyon kaybı değerini %13.8 oranında azalttığı; aynı zamanda kek kalınlığı değerini de %18.5 oranında arttığı görülmüştür.
