Year 2016, Issue: 9, 113 - 113, 01.01.2016

Abstract

Mankind has used mines since the beginning of humanity and gained the civilization by means of using mines. A life cannot be imagined without mines due to intensive use of mines in all sectors such as construction, energy, communication, transportation, health, food, etc. Although mines increased the life quality of humanity, wars caused by struggles for having them led the death of millions of people. History of the wars shows that a great majority of the wars broke out owing to mine deposits. It should not be forgotten that criminals of these wars are not mines and miners but bad eggs who want to be rich by imposing on other people. In the present study, wars for mines since the early ages were mentioned. In addition, readers were informed about mine-based separatist movements and colonialism activities
