Abstract

Bu çalışma meslek yüksekokullarının muhasebe programlarına sınavsız geçiş hakkı olan öğrencilerin profilini ve muhasebe mesleğine bakışlarını ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında, Bilecik ve Eskişehir illerinin merkez ve ilçelerinde bulunan ticaret meslek liselerinin tamamının son sınıflarında okuyan ve bu yıl muhasebe programlarını tercih edebilecek öğrencilere anket uygulanmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilerden sayıca fazla olduğu, anne-babalarının eğitim ve gelir seviyelerinin düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin çoğu yüksek öğretime devam etmek istemelerine rağmen Öğrenci Seçme Sınavı (ÖSS)’na yönelik destek alan öğrenci sayısı azdır. Öğrenciler, muhasebecilerin bilgi ve becerilerini sürekli geliştirmeleri gerektiğini belirtirken muhasebe mesleğinde yabancı dilin önemli olmadığını düşünmektedirler. Ayrıca muhasebecilerin tarafsız olması ve etik kurallara uyması gerektiğini de ifade etmişlerdir. Muhasebe mesleğinin prestijli ve kazançlı bir meslek olduğunu düşünmelerine rağmen muhasebe mesleğini birinci sırada tercih edecek öğrencilerin sayısı daha azdır.

Abstract

(The Profiles of Students Who Have The Right to Attend Accounting Programs Without Examination and Their Point of View to The Accounting Profession) The aim of this study is to determine the profiles of students who have the right to attend accounting programs without examination and their point of view to the accounting profession. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to all students who studied in senior classes and those who could choose accounting programs, both in center and county trade vocational high school in Bilecik and Eskişehir. With these results, it was determined that woman students are more than schoolboys and the students families’ education and income levels are low. Even though many of the students want to continue higher education programs, few of them receive support for ÖSS( University Entrance Exam). While the students predicate that accountants should improve their knowledge and skills, they thought learning a foreign language is not important for accounting profession. Moreover the students state that accountants should be objective and obey ethical rules. Despite many students thought accounting is gainful and prestigious job few students would prefer accounting as the first option.
