Türk Bankacılık Sektöründeki Faiz Dışı Gelirlerin Banka Geliri Ve Riski Üzerindeki Etkisinin Ölçülmesi

Abstract

Bankalar, teknolojinin ilerlemesi, rekabetin artması, kar marjlarının daralması gibi sebeplerle geleneksel bankacılık anlayışının dışına çıkarak geniş hizmet ve ürün ağı ile müşterilerine hizmet vermeye başlamışlardır. Ürün çeşitliliğindeki bu artış geleneksel faaliyetlerden elde edilen faiz gelirlerinin yanında geleneksel olmayan faaliyetlerden elde edilen faiz dışı gelirlerin artmasına sebep olmuştur. Artan faaliyetlerle genişleyen ürün hattı ve çapraz satış olanakları ile gelir kaynaklarındaki çeşitlendirmenin, gelirdeki dalgalanmayı azaltarak daha istikrarlı hale getireceği ve banka riskini düşürebileceği düşünülmüştür. Çalışmanın amacı mevduat bankalarının faiz gelirinden faiz dışı gelir kaynaklarına doğru kayışı ile kaynaklanan çeşitlendirmenin banka gelir ve riski üzerindeki etkisini ölçmektir. Panel veri yöntemi kullanılarak yapılan analizler sonucunda faiz gelirinden faiz dışı gelire doğru kayışın sağladığı pozitif çeşitlendirme etkisinin, daha değişken yapıya sahip olan faiz dışı gelir kaynağına eğilimin yol açtığı negatif etkiyi karşılayamadığı sanılanın aksine performansı artırmadığı, gelir kaynağında istikrar sağlamadığı ve risk seviyesini olumsuz etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.
