ABOUT ENGIEER AND MACHINERY
AIM and SCOPE
To meet the scientific, technical and professional needs of the industry, society and our colleagues in the country, and to contribute to their development in scientific and technical direction.
To bring the most up-to-date scientific and technological developments to researchers, engineers and related audiences.
To provide the opportunity and dissemination of articles related to rapidly developing fields of Engineering with both experimental and theoretical studies in basic engineering fields.
PAST
Engineer and Machinery was first published in 1957 (ISSN: 1300-3402). The Journal was published 3 issues per year until 2017 and since 2017, the journals has been decided to publish 4 issues per year both in print and electronic (eISSN: 2667-7520).
CURRENT PUBLICATION PLAN
Engineer and Machinery is published as 4 issues per year. (Quarterly-March, June, September, December)
EVALUATION PROCESS
All research articles submitted to the Engineer and Machinery are evaluated by at least 3 reviewers. During this evaluation, Engineer and Machinery prefers to follow the “Double-Blind Review” which means both the reviewers and authors cannot see their information on the manuscript file. After completing review process, final decision is given by the Editor-in-Chief or the Vice Editor-in-Chiefs by considering the comments of the reviewers and the Section Editors.
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
Engineer and Machinery provides open access to the public.
PRICING POLICY
After completing the review process, all the accepted manuscripts are published online without requiring any manuscript submission and/or processing charges.
MANUSCRIPT TYPES
Engineer and Machinery accepts the original “Research Articles” and “Review Article” in both Turkish and English.
PUBLICATION ETHICS and MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
As an officially registered member of the “Commitee on Publication Ethics (COPE)”, Engineer and Machinery, accepts only the original works which means the submission should be the product of a new solution approach or should provide a new viewpoint to an existing information. A submitted work must not be published in any other journal in any language and must not be under evaluation in any platform. All the works should be prepared by considering the general ethical guidelines provided by the COPE. Depending on COPE’s recommendations and general publication requirements, Authors, Peer Reviewers, and Editors must adhere to the international standards given here.
CONFLICTS-of-INTEREST STATEMENT
Authors
According to general publication policy of the Engineer and Machinery, only the researchers who contributed to the work in a real sense is considered as an author. Authors should be responsible to disclose all the personal and financial relationships which might bias their work. Financial relationships such as employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony can be classified as the most easily identifiable conflicts-of-interest and the most likely to undermine the credibility of the journal. To clarify conflicts-of-interest issue, authors must submit a letter to the editorial office accompanying the submitted manuscript and explicitly state if any potential conflicts exist or not.
Peer Reviewers
Peer Reviewers is responsible to decline the review process if any substantial conflicts-of-interest exists. In case of any doubt, they should consult to the Editor to make a decision regarding the review process. Researchers from authors' institutions should not be considered as peer reviewers to prevent any conflicts-of-interest.
Editors
Editors should be responsible to manage the review process and have the right of declining any submission in case of any conflict-of-interest. They should not have any direct personal and/or financial conflicts with their assigned manuscripts. They should not be assigned to manuscripts if they are in the author list of them.
PLAGIARISM CONTROL
As of January 2020 all the submitted articles will be evaluated by using the IThenticate® plagiarism detection software. After evaluating the generated similarity report, the editorial board decides to proceed the submission to the review or directly decline it.
COMPLAINTS POLICY
Complaints regarding any published materials will only be accepted within 12 months from the first publication date. In case of any complaint, the authors should reply to the journal publication office by e-mail regarding their responses and reasons.
COPYRIGHT TRANSFER
All the submitted works for publication must be transferred to Engineer and Machinery during the article submission. In this context, Copyright Transfer Form signed by authors must be submitted with the article.
